Congratulations to the Stroudsburg Fire Department (Phoenix Fire Co. No. 2), in Monroe County, and a special thank you to the Stroudsburg Borough Council and Administration team for their help with the purchase of a Pierce Enforcer Pumper.

The new Pumper is on an Enforcer 70-inch chassis and 161-inch body.

The new pumpers features:

  • Cummins X10 450 hp motor
  • TAK-4 Independent Front Suspension
  • Waterous 1,500 GPM pump
  • 1,000-gallon tank
  • two speedlays
  • Husky 3 Foam system
  • Harrison 6kW generator
  • Command Light Knight light tower
  • Whelen warning lights
  • Whelen scene lights
This picture was taken in front of the Stroudsburg 1871 Steamer. This Clapp and Jones steam pumper was in service for 56 years before it was retired.

The fire department is made up of two independent fire companies, Chemical Company No.1 and Phoenix Fire Co. No. 2, that share the same firehouse. Both fire companies have invested a lot of time and effort not only on building new fire apparatus for the protection of the community but also preserving the history and traditions of their past.
